Ill apologize ahead of time for not posting links as I am posting this from my cell.
I have seen quite a few people searching country wide for 4Runners as of late. I would suggest looking at the Philadelphia/Reading PA area on craigslist or searchtempest. There are an unusual amount of runners for sale right now. Quite a few of them seem to be in great shape and for decent price. The prices around here are usually very reasonable, but you will have to request pictures of common rust areas as we are a very heavily salted state. Although, Contrary to popular belief, not every vehicle ends up a rust bucket just because it is located in the snow belt. I bought my 99 out of northern Virginia, but it spent most of its life in PA and CT. There was only a very minimal amount of surface rust on very very few parts of the undercarriage. (I just replaced my rear O2 sensor tonight, in the dark, without ANY kind of pb blaster.).
Just do yourself a favor. Treat this buy as any other investment. Take your time and do your research. You CAN end up with that perfect buy.
