Hello! I'm new to the forums and 4Runners in general. I hope I don't get lambasted for posting here, if I need to be corrected please do so.
I wanted to first say these forums have been tremendously helpful on my deciding factor to look for one of these awesome vehicles and after weeks of searching I've finally started finding 4Runners in my area with the options I wanted.
The only problem is that most (to me anyway) seem to be pretty high mileage. I know that doesn't deter some of the members here but I thought it would be wise to ask for your opinions anyway. Here is the vehicle in question.
1997 Toyota 4Runner Limited, Black, 4WD auto trans with rear e-locker option, One owner, 250k miles, body and interior are in great condition minus sun fading on some of the body cladding. Asking price is $3,500.
I have not driven it yet. I did inquire about service records and the gentleman said he does have some. I also asked about the regular maintenance items listed in the buyers guide but have not gotten any of that information yet.
I will mainly be using the runner for weekend camping with the kids, fishing, and light trail driving during hunting seasons, this will not be my main mode of transportation, I have a daily driver and a work truck.
All of your input is appreciated and I look forward to being a part of this awesome community. Thanks!
