Looking for some old school advice

Hey guys, wondering if anyone has run into this issue. I have a '99 4Runner Ltd that arbitrarily lights up the 4 wheel indicator on the dash, flashing the four green tires and the center diff in yellow. It occurs occasionally and I'm not touching the gear shift lever. Typically it will either go away in a while or after I turn off the engine. It does not, however, go into 4WD (4h) when it happens. Has anyone run into this? I'm thinking a faulty switch. Scott

Have you checked the owners manual to see if those lights mean something specific??
