Looking to buy a 4runner. Would u get this. How much?

Too much. I bought my wife's '99 in great condition for substantially less than that.

Sometimes you'll see 1st gens go for silly money, but they're getting collectible. The second gens, not so much. Not yet, anyway.
 
9k is too high, even with such low miles. My guess is, it will probably unload for more in the range of 6-7.5k. The truck is older and the mpg will be a turn off for most. Check that truck over with a fine tooth comb, noticed dirty brake fluid.

Definitely a NO. It has the original 3.0 V6 and not the infinitely more reliable 3.4. You're just asking for headaches with this one. My 89 1st gen had the 3.0 until I finally killed it in a mud pit. Now it has a nice bowtie 4.3. Would rather have the 3.4 Toyota though.

First gens are collectible because it is the ONLY gen with a removeable top. All gens afterwards were pretty much the same, just facelifted a little. If they released a new 4runner with a removeable top, I would be buying my first brand new car in over a decade.
 
I have a 2nd gen, 95' limited with 127k miles.

I agree, 9k is way too much. You can find a nice 3rd gen with the tbelt/pumps/tranny cooler done for a lot less ching.
 
A 3.0 2nd gen 4runner isn't special, and having a low odometer reading still doesn't make it special. For a third that price, you could get a very clean 1st gen 4runner in great working order. For half that price, you could get a very solid third gen.
 
If you want a 4 door, the 3rd gen with 3.4l V6 and auto is probably going to be the best bang for your buck. You can get them really clean for about 6 grand. If you want a 2 door, then get a first gen which gives the uniqueness of the removable top. Clean first gens unmolested go for about 5-7k. If you do get a 1st gen 22re with 5 speed is the way to go.

I was just about to say the same thing. Great advice. If you want help finding a good 1st gen, let me know. It's a true off-road vehicle. The others are more like SUV's.
 
No. I bought my 1994 4runner 5-speed 3.0L v-6 for $3000, and i just bought my newer 1997 4Runner 5-speed, 3.4L (Best engine ever made, tied with the 22re) for $5500. An automatic paired with the 3.0L will leaving you wanting more power... just by the way. The automatic 3rd gens are better.

$5000-$7000 is quite a big overstatement, unless there's some part of the country where they are the holy grail of desirable vehicles.

I wouldn't advise anyone spend a dime more than I did on mine - $2500.

Yes, I've seen them go for that much here, but they are REALLY CLEAN and unmolested SR5 models with original paint, like new interiors, reasonable mileage etc... Of course, the ones for 2500 don't look nearly as nice. The 1st gens are getting harder to find. Glad I have 2 of them ;)

4runners and pickups are crazy expensive around the northwest. It's not unusual to see rigs going for this much on craigslist.
 
Agreed. If everyone's willing to pay stupid prices on them, might as well put mine on the market.

$3000 once I fix my passenger side panels, everybody.
