Loose front end or brakes

These E-Brakes are notorious for not self adjusting. Were the adjusters even or did someone have one out twice or 3x more then the other side. If the wheel cylinder plungers are moving freely. I would check that bell crank or the E-brake was stuck on burned the pad off. As the pivot point in the bell crank is always freezing on these rigs.

Only pulled the driver side last night. I'll compare the adjusters when I pull both drums this weekend. When I replace everything I'll probably pull the bell cranks out and make sure they're well lubed and not corroded.

That rear shoe is pretty worn down too. I don’t think that situation is too abnormal, they should have been replaced a long time ago.

I’d just do shoes and drums and clean things up properly. Make sure you lube all the correct points (see fsm). I’d try leaving the cylinders alone, maybe just check again in a few months to see it looks good still.

I haven’t done enough of these to recommend anything. Hopefully someone else will. Sorry.

Pulled the passenger side drum to take them to get turned and found gear oil all over everything. My simple brake job just turned into an axle seal job.

This isn't how I envisioned the first week of ownership. Haha
