Loud clattering noise coming from the rear end

I have a 2000 4 runner and it just started making a really loud clattering, clunking sound towards the rear end. It doesn't do it when in 4 wheel drive but it sounds terrible when in 2 wheel drive. It only does it when the vehicle is moving. Any ideas?

have you checked the Upper Control Arm bushings?

is it clattering when going over small bumps in the road or all the time?

is the sound consistent?
