Low gas warning light ?

I dont know the name of it but im talking about the red light that comes on warning you that you are low on gas.
Mine used to flicker on and off like there was a loose connection when i was low now it does not come on at all. Its not the bulb or connections behind the instrument cluster... where should i check now?

Mine still flickers on and off like yours used to. Im curious if anyone has had any luck resolving this as well.

I had the opposite problem when I had my 98 (totaled in a accident @ 65 mph and i walked w/o a scratch) but id have a full tank and the gas light would be on.

Anyways, for your problem, I vote lose connection.

I had this same issue. I finally got mine to stop but not sure what the actual issue was to be honest.
mine was two fold. Gas gap warn and was not getting a tight seal.
and
what seemed to fix it is I had spark plug wires that were worn and causing a short and a coil pack fail. the wires had worked there way against the intake manifold and that's where I was getting the short at.
Never got any check engine light but after testing the coil packs and wires, replaced them and I have not had the issue since.
