Low profile roof rack?

Currently using an old (like 20+ years old!) Yakima "Basket case" rack on my 07 SR5 for carrying things like the spare for our trailer or my RotoPax cans, but I'm wanting something a little bigger.

Problem I'm having is that everything I find seems to sit on top of the factory rack bars and go up from there. Does anybody know of a "low riding" rack, something that maybe fits between the factory bars and rests either on or close to the roof? I hate the way the higher racks have that ugly gap underneath the rack and I hate carrying my gear up so high.

As an alternative, has anybody ever heard of a "drop" -type crossbar for the factory rack? One that would allow for the carrying of gear close to the roof?

on the cheaper side, the rola vortex basket is low profile,
plus there is additional hardware you can purchase to have
it sit even lower.

It's a little more $$, but this would be the lowest profile option out there compared to Yakima, Rola etc..

Much lower profile than my BajaRack, I have less than 1/2" from the top of my BajaRack when I enter my garage.

The Whitson rack is nice but it's bigger than I need and $675 is way too rich for my blood.

I do like the Rola rack, anyone know of the lowering hardware?
