Lowering 2007 Limited V8

You're right, and I would go as far as to say I think that the 3rd gen T4R looks good lowered a little bit. Not fully sure about 4th.

I heard back from Tundra Racing. So far the front can be done for a very reasonable price. Tom @ Tundra Racing is a lot of help and super knowledgeable. He said he can do the rear to or at least help source the products. Just needs measurments. I think i'm going to get the stock rear shock info as well as the spring info and share it with him. But I need it to sit level so it would obviously need to be lower by that much more.

Ya agree on 3rd looking better also !!! I know have seen some real nice Tacoma's lowered so it can be done . Could be why don't like 4th is wheels ? Idk doesn't have the right "Look"
 
Why do you care what other people think? It's your truck, do what YOU like! I just put these wheels on mine because I don't leave the pavement and if I do, I still have the original wheels. I know most people on here probably won't like it but I like them and I can do whatever I want. Haha

You're so right. The right look is important as well as the quality in my opinion. The right wheels and tires makes or breaks everything.

I was going to reach out to him yes. In my opinion, I always stay away from cutting coils. I don't want that "bouncy" look when going down the road.
The XREAS system still works great actually! Rides like it's new.

Given the interests of this site, I don't think you'll find too many people that have gone lower than stock here.

That XSP looks pretty good up top however.

It's not like people that lower their 4Runner on this site will get shunned, this thread is the perfect example, the idea is pretty well supported. People are just too afraid of being different.
 
Those other T4Rs posted are not the look i'm going for. If anything, it almost changed my mind! lol.

I do love the capabilities of my current setup. Although it's no where close to the performance and price tag as most of those here, simple spacers do the job well and offroading is simplified for sure. That's one aspect I would miss with a lower setup. Not being able to explore trails in the Rocky Mountains... although I've only been once in 4 years.

There are pros and cons to both lifted and lowered. Either way, it's an avenue to sink money into and end up with a huge smile. I'm more of a fan of looking different. Hence the previous look I had with the green letters.

This is going to be a long process. The suspension price tag is a lot lower than I expected, but what going to hurt is the tires and possibly wheels. Not sure how these Monster rims will look with that setup. Possibly do for now but won't know until it's at the height I want and the right size tire is on. haha just purchased these KO2's Such is life!
 
Something else to consider would be the alignment. Since these things have good adjustment for 2" of lift, can they also go the other way for 2" of drop?

We (Dobinsons) have made lowering coils for years, but from memory with a buddy's old Honda, if the struts are too "long" the coil can come loose when unloading the suspension, causing noise. That might happen front or rear.

I'm interested to hear other people's experience with this, if some have done it.

I remember years ago when I worked at OME, our dealer in Peru was going to run an offroad race and wanted to lower their FJ Cruiser for better performance at speed. We couldn't help since OME can't do one-off coils, but Dobinsons can!!

That's what's great about this site, just about everyone has "the bug". Haha. I think all of us want our vehicles to be different from everyone elses. It's great how many products there are out there to upgrade our 4runners. You can always store your KO2's for winter or having a little fun. Like i said, do what you like. You can always change it back...after spending a little money to figure out what you like.

My thoughts exactly! But after recent events and 10k in damage, I might be holding off on any more modifications. Damn vandals.
 
Ok, I just saw your other post, I didn't realize that was you. Damn! Yeah...hopefully it's better than before.
