Magnetic4R Limited transformation and adventures

I guess is about times start a build thread. By no means is my 4Runner on he same level as those that are on here but hopefully one day it may be close. I still have a lot to learn off-roading and some of these mods exceed the needs of my capabilities. There's few members that has inquired about my build so this should help. Anyways, I have always wanted a 4runner for awhile ever since the 5th gen came out. There's a Toyota dealer that I would pass by every time I swing by my buddies place and every time do, I would see a silver or white 4Runner. All I could do was drool and think about getting one. Fast forward to March 2014 and wanting to take the family outdoor more where my current ride wasn't able to, I picked up my 2014 Limited. At first I was okay with a base model but I was spoiled with wanting all these creature comforts features in my Lexus and if I was going to shell out this much, might as well get what I want and the Limited was it, especially with the Redwood interior. =) Being the only 4Runner with redwood interior in Ca, I negotiated over the phone and drove 2hrs to make the purchase. And here it is. At the time of purchased I had no clue or intention of making it what it is today but as you can see that didn't happen.

Sweet man , any issues with swapping out the front bumpers ? I was thinking about doing that , also how do the chrome side skirts come off and are they require to be replace with something else to look finished out ?

It's pretty straight forward as long as you have all the parts, it's best to swap with someone. As for the side rockers, just un-bolt a few screws and bolts here and there. Its all visible. You can leave as is or replace with a Trail/sr5 side rockers and cap and you should be set. Another option is Shrockwork metal rockers or 4x4lab sliders will cover it.

For the top grill, I have two choice, either it will be replace with the TRD Pro grill or get some 20" amber LED lightbar in its place. I'm thinking of the latter. As for the bumper, I was playing with the anthracite gray plasti dip, unfortunately, I was misinform and the color didn't match to my liking, only in certain light it was almost close but the rest of the time, it didn't match. So, out it goes and I peeled it off. The best thing about the MGM color is it goes great with black and with my current color scheme, I was able to get away not having it painted. (it can be mistaken as an aftermarket bumper. =)) I was looking for another MGM locally but no luck.

Yeah this previous version is perfect for the average Joe. The 20's looks better on Limited. It was more then capable for getting a little dirty and taking the family camping and trips. I blamed it on the TW guys when I went camping with them. They took me on harder trails and remote camping locations where I "told myself" I wanted a lift and more rubbers and body protection and RTT and the rest was history. LOL.
