Maintenance certificates

How long after purchases does it typically take for Toyota to mail the certificates for the 2/25 free maintenance? I am about a month out from purchase.

I was looking at older post (2010ish) and they referenced certificates. Do you just roll into the dealer at 5k and ask them to get to work?

Your sales staff will inform the service staff and everything will be fine as the sale and start date is in the computer. I did the 5-15-25 ones myself as they are just visual and fluid checks. The 10-20 are the oil changes and tire rotations and grease. Where in WV?

Thank you. Charleston.

I believe the 2/25,000 deal is nationwide now. I had my 2011 Tundra serviced in 7 different states over almost 3 years and until that 25,000 miles ran out I was never charged a dime. To my very pleasant surprise the first few times. I never saw a certificate beyond the piece of paper they gave me in the sales packet at the dealer.

I got my my "Toyota Care" pamphlet about 5 weeks after purchase. It comes with a " Owner Profile " card that has your purchase date , expiration date, oil type, VIN, etc and the Roadside Assistance # and says to keep the card with your vehicle.

Never received anything on the 2/25, but my dealer gave me a VIP package with 2 additional oil changes and tire rotations that got me to 45k miles if I went through them, which I did (too bad I went through all but the 45k service in less than two years lol). It's all in the system though, even when I used the additional oil changes and rotations I didn't have to show anything to them, they just said yep and it's free.

Wife bought a new 2014 4 Runner 3/8/14. Mixed in with all of the paperwork was a single sheet ToyotaCare document that outlined what it covered - normal factory scheduled service for 2 yrs. or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. Also includes 24/7 Roadside Assistance for two yrs. from date of purchase.

Dealer also placed one of those oil change reminder stickers in the upper left hand corner of the windshield. Has 8/7/14 - 5000 miles written on it. 0W20 Castrol oil change.

Not complaining, but I find it interesting they are doing a change at 5K and not 10K as specified in the owners manual. Can't help but wonder if they're going to attempt to charge me for the 5K change since the ToyotaCare plan calls for "factory scheduled" service which is a 10K interval; not 5K.

I will certainly inquire into this before it goes in for the ?free? 5K oil change.

I believe the first change is at 5k, then 10k for each subsequent change.

I just did a 5,000 mile service at my local dealer. Manuel says tire rotation and fluid level checks/top offs. No oil change. I have a piece of paper from the dealer where I bought it for a "free" first service at 5,000 miles. Really??? They also put a semi permanent sticker in my windshield for a 5,000 oil change, but again the manual does not specify one UNLESS you have done a lot of driving in dusty/dirty conditions.

I have taken to following that little maintenance bible religiously.

Similar to what I have. I sent a query to the dealer right after my post in this thread. Received a response from one of their "Internet Sales Mgrs" saying "check your inbox or spam box" for an answer.

Perhaps I'll hear from them tomorrow.

Had a conversation with the dealer we purchased from along with 2 others in my area.

Same answer from all 3.

Every 5K - tire rotation

Every 10K - oil change.
