Maintenance Day BBQ

I need a maintenance day but I don't think I'll make this one. I found this today after my week long offroad trip. I'm pretty sure it's my water pump. So it looks like it's time time for a new timing belt too. At least it waited until I got home. By the way, a trip to Durhamtown Tellico is a must. I only got on a few trails since the place is so large.

Sadly I won't be lifting the truck then. I won't have the parts ordered till that weekend. Bills have a nasty was of sneaking up on you.

I'm due for a oil change in 300 miles which will probably be right around the meet up if we need something else to do. I've never done one before so maybe it would be a good place to learn at.

[MENTION=102266]SRQ-Runner[/MENTION] the oil changes on our 3rz's are kind of a pain. I can show you my trick(s) but I usually have some sort of spillage, from a drop or a small puddle. The filter placement is really a pain, also, I end up taking the skid plates off to help with the mess. Also, I have that mini header if you want to look at it. :)

It may just be worth having Toyota do it then, they normally send out those $20 oil change coupons. Although I do need that mini header, I don't know if it's in the budget right now.

If it is only costing you $20... and they are using a good oil and oem filter. That is NOT a bad deal. I just don't trust them.. lol

They have been doing the oil since it was new so I guess they've been doing something right. I found a $20 coupon so I'll probably just have them do it again.
 
I'm in South Tampa and would love to come out and join. I'll be the other 2WD token in the group. My wife has a girls day scheduled so I think I'm free. I just got my 2001 a week ago and love the ride. I just had all the fluids changed so good to go there.

I do have an issue with my drivers seat though, the front right bolt is not attached to the floorboard. It's not the bolt, but the raised floorboard that's broken. The dealership wants $500 to pull the seat, pull the carpet and tack the nut to the floor. I saw on the forum another member drilled a hole and attached a new bolt, I think we could just do that as long as I used some sealer to keep the bolt protected from the elements.

Maybe we could tackle that job? I'd be happy to bring some snacks and beverages.

[MENTION=124338]warriorwagner[/MENTION] come on out buddy! I had a possibly similar issue in mine. I used a large through bolt and some fender washers and called it a day. I haven't had an issue since i did it over a year ago.

I will be providing burgers, Brats and hot dogs with fixins, chips and dip and maybe couple other things. Oh and all the filtered water you can drink! lol But please, feel free to bring any sides to share and don't forget about BEER! I might get my growlers filled up from Two Henery's in Plant city just for this occasion lol

Hang out, work on the rigs, meet some fellow forum members in Florida! Right now it looks like the most labor intensive project is going to be my axle seal on the passenger front diff. We had a couple lifts planned but it looks like they aren't going to happen this time.

When
May 23rd starting around 9:30-10am at my house in Plant City Florida Near Parkdale Farmers Market. If you are coming I will PM you my address and phone number so you can know exactly where to go.

Food
I am going to be grilling Hamburgers, hand made patties, Brats and Hot Dogs. We will have a side or two, if you would like to bring a side to share or not share that is cool too. Also BYOB, or soft drinks I will have a large cooler with ice. I will have all the filtered water you can drink as well. :whistle:

Just confirmed with the wife and I'm free that day so I'll be there. Along with the seat issue, I have a clicking from my rear brakes and might need to see what's going on there. If I bring some new shoes and rebuild kits, could we knock out my rear brakes too?

I can bring my floor jack and jack stands too.
