Maintenance I've done since buying a 176k mile 4Runner

Hi all, new member here... I just thought I'd share this for those who have purchased or are looking at purchasing at high mileage 4th gen. Figured it might be beneficial. I've been keeping records and detailed notes about modifications and maintenance I've done in the last 18 months or so on one I purchased at 176k miles with almost no maintenance history on it. You can see my troubleshooting process for some steering wheel wobble throughout the last year. Maybe it'll help some of you. At the very least, I figure the next owner (not anytime soon!) will appreciate my nerdiness when it comes to record keeping. I'm open to more suggestions on what to do next. I was thinking of a transmission fluid/filter service.

2WD, 4.0L V6, XSP edition

p.s. - Don't judge me for the Fram, I won't be buying another :lol:

Hey I thought I would tag in with what I have done since I got mine at 182k (294kms). I picked the truck up for $4000 and had some deferred maintenance 2003.

294k - Water pump, timing belt, Oil change, new radiator, CV axles and front calipers.

303k - Oil Change.

304k - Bilstein 5100's fronts with Moog springs, new Cv boot, tie rods and alignment. New hood support arms.

305k - Valve cover gaskets.

Overall I have been doing a fair amount of catch up on the previous owners maintenance so less work would have to be done if you can get a cleaner example. Planning on getting some new wheels and tyres soon!

I have an 08 V6 in Salsa Red that I bought 2 years ago with 206k miles. Here is what I have done to it since. I have excluded oil changes and tire rotations which were done at 5k and 7k respectively.

2/21/2019 206k miles
- replaced Toyota air filter
5/18/2019 210,845 miles
- replaced headlight bulbs
1/23/2020 226248 miles
- Changed rear diff, front diff and transfer case oil.
1/29/2020 226,408 miles
- flush power steering fluid.
- Greased (4) u-joints and (2) yoke on front and rear drive shafts.
2/2/2020 226,569 miles
- Drain and fill transmission. Did 3 times. Used about 9.5 quarts.
2/5/2020 226,610 miles
- replaced rear main seal and trans front seal at Toyota dealer.
5/7/2020 237,390 miles
- replaced serpentine drive belt and in cabin filter.
5/12/2020 237,477 miles
- replaced air filter
8/15/2020 245,571 miles
- Lubed yokes and U joints
12/6/2020 258,126 miles
- replaced spark plugs
12/11/2020 258,275 miles
- replaced PCV
1/18/2021 259,859 miles
- Lubed yokes and U joints
2/26/2021 261,099 miles
- Replaced front rotors, pads, pins and clips
3/12/2021 261,312 miles
- Replaced both CV axles
- Changed front diff fluid.
