What is the cause of the maintenance light to go on? I thought it was just for oil changes no? Normally mine comes on and I get an oil change it goes off. This time its came on so changed the oil and its still on. What gives? I needed a new serpentine belt which I also changed yesterday and its still on :ybrick:

Did you reset the light after oil change? It's just set to come on intermittently since last reset leading up to 5000 miles and on solid at 5K.

If not, just roll your odometer until it reads on the odometer (not trip A or B).
Turn the car off. Hold the "Rest" button and click the key over the the "ACC" position. Continue to hold until the light disappears. Turn the key back to off and then crank it. Should be good to go.

Hope that helps.

I always have to look this up I can never remember exactly what to do lol I know how to reset it just can't ever remember when the time comes haha

Well glad I could help both of you out then :)

This idiot light isn't new to cars boys. I had this same feature on my 98 honda. Now if this is the first "newer" car that you've owned, you get a pass.

Just noticed I put hold the "rest" button on my instructions... Should say "Reset"... Duh.
