Maintenance on the Runner today.

It was time for the first oil change since i bought her and i thought what better time than to give her a once over. Oil change rotated and balanced tires greased u joints and yokes. Front pads were low so resurfaced rotors and new brake pads. Rear brakes are new but right rear axle real was leaking so replaced bearing seal and rear diff fluid. Noticed valve covers were leaking so checked bolts and they were loose so i tightened them up. Over all she is in great shape and the ball joints are tight and boots are not even tore so they may have already been replaced. Now to trouble shoot the 4 wheel drive and ill be in great shape. I sure do love my runner.

All in one day??

Did more work on it than I will probably do all year.

Most of that is on my to do list, hopefully I will be doing my LBJ later this month.

Lol. Yea it took about 5 hours to do it all. It makes it a lot easier when you have someone to help out and all the tools to do it with on hand. I didn't think about it yesterday but there was a vacuum line going to a canister in the drivers side inner fender that was unplugged. I plugged it up and went out this morning and tried my 4 wheel drive and it worked. I tried it 3 times and it worked every time. So hopefully that's all it was.

the first time i did mine it took along time too. i got these STUPID AS FUK tin seals. they bent so friggen easy. i ended up tweaking one and had the same leak about two months later. found these nice hard plastic kind from orilleys. they obviously didnt bent, and were easier to ram in than the stupid tin ones. just FYI i guess..

do you use part no. 90404‑19013 (oil filter union) when changing your oil filter?
