Making a maintenance log

this will help me keep track of stuff. What else should I add? I also haven't finished putting specs like type of oil and such.

I like to add the purchase date of my maintenance items. This tells me how old the item is. Sometimes, I buy parts that I don't install for a long time. An example are spark plugs. I have brand new spares. I wouldn't stock up on something like brake fluid in the chance moisture gets in. I would rather buy it when I need it.

While it's nice to have everything orderly and in one place as far as service intervals go, I'd recommend making a separate spreadsheet that includes the actual service/maintenance/mods that you perform as well.

Yep mine is like this, just a different order: Date/Description/Miles/Cost

Then I have notes, plans, etc off to the side.

Similar to mine, but I leave the cost off in case my wife gets ahold of it.

Dates are good for sure. for fluids I label those on the bottle. I did quite a bit of things last year too but didn't log it.

Buy a small paper notebook, keep it in the glove box. Write down the date, mileage and what you did. You will then have more info about the service of your car than 95% of car owners. It can't get much simpler
