MASSIVE Colorado road trip

So I've started on the massive road trip that I have been planning for almost a year and a half. My wife and I started in Burlington, Vt on Sat the 4th and we are currently in Montrose Co Aprox 2300mi. We are planning on doing the Alpine loop and camping along the way, and of course taking advantage of the trails out here. Tomorrow afternoon we'll start our multi-day trek. We'll be going between Ouray, Lake City, Silverton, Telluride and Durango via the following trails: Mineral Creek, Engineer Pass, Cinnamon Pass, California Gulch, Hurricane Pass, Ophir Pass, Imogene Pass and Governor's Gulch. We'll be in my black 4Runner with Vt plates if anyone out here is in the area and would like to say hello, flag us down. I'll check the forum every couple of days. Have a great time in CO! The blog is hilarious. You gotta get the wife to admit that she is having a good time, and road trips are about the most fun you can have (in writing).

- BFAD does. He's also a good writer - check it out.

Better yet, who reads this and thinks it’s a good idea to do?

- Um, pretty much all of us. It doesn't have to be on a highway...

I'm thoroughly involved in reading travel reports (on motorcycles), but a good report/blog is not easy.

She's talented alright... We're doing our best to keep regular posts... Maybe a few daysissing as we head up into the mountains. should be interesting, a crazy amount of history in this area, and I'm psyched to check out the ghost towns and old mines. We're at the base of the mountains tonight in montrose, and lOoking up at them, it's pretty intimidating.

You are on the threshold of some great trails, beautiful mountains, and cool places --enjoy. It's nice and green up there now too --perfect timing. Take mama out for a nice dinner in Telluride and have fun exploring the San Juans!!
