Max miles you'd consider in 3rd Gen T4R..

I'm in the market for a 3rd Gen T4R.

What would be the maximum mileage you'd consider?

This won't be a daily driver, just for weekends, etc.

Probably for me would be in the 175k range if it was just for 7-8000 miles a year.

Depends on what you pay for it. Im new to 4runners, but the general concensus is that they will last well over 200k if well maintained. Toyota Quality. Depends on the year too. The max I myself would buy is 150k. When I bought mine I didnt even look at anything over 100k, solely because i wanted pristine condition. If I was on a budget i would consider like I said up to 150k

My buddy has a 96 , original engine, tranny drive train etc. It has had one timing belt and the usually maintenance.

He has 496,000 KM's on his . 308,074 in Miles for our friends south of the border . Its just been very well taken care of .

It's nice to know a 4Runner is capable of 300,000 miles but at that point there are fix-it's just around the corner.

I bought my 96 with 162,00 on it and besides maintenance, no problems yet.

Yes ,very true . Still a great value vehicle when you consider the cost per mile ( speaking of course for all 3rd gens ) .

Really haven't followed closely how the 4th Gens are holding up .

to me miles don't matter, it really just depends how well the vehicles been taken care of.
