2 quick things to check.
1- make sure your gas cap is tight
2- go to a parts store and have then scan for codes.

I just went through this the day after I bought my 08, turned out to be just the gas cap. Hope that is the case for you as well.....
As everyone above said, check the gas cap. If it doesn't tighten very much, that's probably the issue.
As the above have also linked etc., there are a couple websites that talk about if your check engine light and various VSC/Traction lights also come on, that's usually something with your evaporative emissions control system, or simply, there's a leak somewhere in the gas tank or the engine somewhere along the gas line, etc. etc. Which is virtually always the actual gas cap. I had this problem on some cold days, replaced mine, problem disappeared. Probably want to check if yours tightens nicely before you go buying a new one though.
It could also be something worse, but if the error code is P044_ (anything 0-9), most likely it's the gas cap.
