As everyone above said, check the gas cap. If it doesn't tighten very much, that's probably the issue.
As the above have also linked etc., there are a couple websites that talk about if your check engine light and various VSC/Traction lights also come on, that's usually something with your evaporative emissions control system, or simply, there's a leak somewhere in the gas tank or the engine somewhere along the gas line, etc. etc. Which is virtually always the actual gas cap. I had this problem on some cold days, replaced mine, problem disappeared. Probably want to check if yours tightens nicely before you go buying a new one though.
It could also be something worse, but if the error code is P044_ (anything 0-9), most likely it's the gas cap.
