Meetup at Prairie City [Near Sacramento] (Mid March)

My request for time off was denied due to not being able to get extra help to cover my shift. :sobbing:
I hope you guys have a great time out at Prairie City this weekend if you still go there.
I did a TON of research this past week and called 6 different Forest Ranger stations. ALL trails above 4,000 feet that still have snow on them are closed...earliest opening will be maybe at the end of the month. K.C. it'd be a long drive for you but the only one's I found open were up Hwy 50 to Ice House Road and see how far in you guys can make it on the snow on the paved road. You may be able to do a little wheeling off road, but be prepared to get your self unstuck. Had to go up there a few weeks back and yank a Jeep buddy after he went wheeling by himself and planted his Jeep in 4 feet of snow. The only reason he needed help was he had NO rescue equipment to get himself unstuck. Well that and he went alone.
The only other place is down Buckeye Road via Foresthill Road. Just basically Class 2 maybe 3 if you find mud and snow, down to the Rubicon river and then back. Also a few trails outside of Jackson & Arnold that don't have snow are open.
I apologize for hijacking your thread ecrew....I want you to tint my windows so please forgive me! Just want to make sure you guys are safe...and don't give fodder to my jeep buddies for getting to rescue Toyotas! And ecrew, since you are local, I'm more than willing to meet up and loan you my plethora of trails books that give excellent descriptions and locations of trails in NorCal. :cowboy:
It would be sweet to get a bunch of CA. 4Runner people here to do a summer weekend over nighter on Henness Pass Road up in Nevada County outside of Downieville to Truckee. I'm lobbying the off road club to make this one of our official club runs this summer for those of us who's rigs are not set up to do Hell Hole.

The following improvements are being made:
Four new staging areas are being added to provide
additional parking, restrooms,
picnic areas, trees and shade ramadas.
Vehicle obstacle areas will be improved.

The 4x4 area is expected to re-open in mid-October.
