Oh man... where to begin... Luckily I don't remember ALL 'mess ups'... Here are a few that stick out
The first time I changed my oil, probably first mechanic work I'd ever done for that matter, I pulled the tranny drain plug instead of engine oil drain plug. This was before I had a cell phone, so I had to walk a half mile from my land where I was changing the oil to a house with a phone so I could call my parents and tell em I need some tranny fluid.
I still haven't lived this one down.. I once spent 45 minutes looking for a hole in my tire (spinning it on the hub and spraying it with soapy water) only to have my friend come back out and hold up the air hose right next to me and say, "is this the leak you're hearing?"
When I first got the 4Runner I decided to change the spark plugs and over-torqued one of the dist. bolts, snapping it off. I thought "easy fix, I'll just drill it out"... until my drill slipped and cut a hole NEXT to the bolt.. All the way through the valve cover... I didn't know what to do so I tapped the hole and put a new bolt in. Luckily that one hasn't came back to bite me in the ass... yet...
Fortunately I've had enough 'great saves' to offset the mistakes I've made, at least in my mind.

Minor stuff for me so far, but I take responsibility:
My drivers' leather seat bottom and side has a couple bad tears in it. Damaged by too many years of me being too fat. This will no doubt lead to further grief once I try to fix it.
Did not watch over the mechanic who installed my front Bilsteins as he was offended by my showing up with shop manual print outs about the spring orientations. He stretched both abs speed sensor cables which cost me several hours of rebuilding and replacing the cables.
Dealer overcharged my AC works good as long as ambient temps are below 95 deg. when it overpressures and trips out the AC clutch. So I'm good until summer.

As for the AC, just take off the low pressure access cap and press with a pen. It'll release some pressure and your AC will work better. I overcharged my AC this summer too. It makes scary noises haha
Oh, I also sheared off a bolt on the passenger side valve cover for the bracket that holds the cold air intake tube in place. I forgot that I would have to loosen it when I did the 1.25" body lift.
Also after installing my bodylift, the ass end of my truck is crooked lol. Gotta loosen the bolts up and get a few friends to help push the body over a tad

I mounted the winch fairlead to my Savage skidplate BEFORE mounting the skidplate to the bumper. Oops.
