I really like the ARB bumper on the new Tacoma. Hides that huge grill which is a good thing.

I agree with everyone those big bulky steel bumpers are old-school and they're on their way out. A nice tasteful aluminum functional bumper would be awesome. The manufacturers and everybody keeps fixating on reducing weight and then we add these big chunks of steel all the way out on the front of the truck .Feels kinda stupid.

I agree with the crowd in thinking that bumper doesn't look very attractive (how's that for polite language?). They should have put something in front of that gaping hole for the grill, and the lonely bar arching across the top just looks out of place.

That said, the front of the Taco doesn't look anything like the front of the 4Runner. Hopefully they won't keep the styling the same by leaving a gaping hole for the grill.

I want to be really clear on something, Mark and his guys are great, they graciously let me drive, and damage their brand new Taco. I wasn't a fan of that truck and how it was set up, but I basically got to drive it for 4-5 days free of charge or responsibility.

Re: the bumper? I'm not a fan. The second rev looks a million times better, but it still looks less than great. I think it comes down to how the new Taco is built. I think the Pelfrey front ends for the 2nd gen Tacos are amazing looking, especially on badass rigs like Defconbrix's setup. That's what swayed me to do the Pelfrey front end on my truck.

This just looks like a bro-dozer.

It will be interesting to see what the final version will look like. The Taco bumper is the template but as he said its not final. Maybe he will be open to some constructive feedback. I wasn't a fan of the 4th gen-type tube bumper he was thinking of last year, I like the hybrid styles I have seen. I wasn't expecting the "colorful" commentary. I will let this ride until after the holiday and see if there are any takers.
