Mini Van opinions wanted

I feel the Sienna is a better over-all Minivan if you want something that can be a bit more robust. The AWD combined with good tires allows them to be very nice road-trip vehicles if you want to hit the cabin in the winter and so on. I also feel the interior of the Sienna is more appealing than the Honda Odyssey.

Not at all a fan of BSM, we've been having issues with the system and honestly for anything other than towing and/or large box vans I can't see the benefit of BSM vs. properly adjusted mirrors. Besides being beyond annoying/distracting while driving it seems more like a easy way out for people vs. learning proper driving techniques.

Never had BSM before until my MDX...now, i won't live without it! This is especially helpful in rain or when the sun is shining in back of you. The Acura system is different from Toyota/Lexus...my BSM indicator is INSIDE the cabin on the A-pillar. Toyota/Lexus indicator is in the outside rearview mirror itself.
 
personally I would go with a sienna, but the Honda is dead even heat between the two.

In 2015, Toyota did a mid-cycle refresh of the Sienna...rides much better and much quieter...along with redesigning dash and minor exterior changes.

Before 2015, I would recommend Honda Ody...but with the 2015 changes, Sienna is the best of the bunch...with Ody close second. The only major negative on 2015 Sienna is that its small offset crash test is only average, which is disappointing given that Toyota had time to make it right but fail to do so. But otherwise, Sienna is better than Ody almost in every other way.
 
Yeah, we have narrowed it down to Sienna and Ody. Going to drive them both this weekend. I'm already leaning towards the Sienna, just because I'm partial to Toyota. So I need to spend some good time in both when we test them out. I don't want to talk us into a Sienna purely because I love my 4Runner so much.

I got $6k off a touring elite odyssey. I like the looks of it better than the sienna it looks a little less minivan-y. The wife and I wanted a Tahoe/suburban but they are expensive to buy and fuel.

I emailed every dealer in Portland until I got the deal I wanted.
 
I ended up getting a 2010 Sienna in 2013. I have an old Consumer Reports that had the 2010 rated better than the 2011 Odyssey and 2011 Sienna. It was the only year they had shown two different model years in the same rating because they felt that the redesign was inferior to the previous model. It stuck in my head. I tried all three (2010 Sienna, new Sienna, and new Odyssey) and the 2010 Sienna was quieter (could actually hear people in back seat) and the fit/finish was a little better. Found a cream-puff and saved some money too.

Prior to buying the Sienna, I wasn't a Toyota fan. Now I have a Sienna and 4Runner.

This is very true...I have 2008...very reliable and pretty quiet. But, I think that the 2015 and up Sienna (midcycle refresh in 2015) is now the top dog in terms of ride and quietness.

Now the big decision: Which mini-van driver will you be?

In my research, I have found there are 2 types of mini-van driver:

1) Scared of everything, overly cautious, super slow and almost causes more wrecks as a result of just being in everyone's way;

2) Pissed at the world (probably because they have to drive a mini-van), super aggressive, driving like they're trying to kill the van so they can finally break free and buy something they would actually LIKE to be driving.
