Missing Cruise Control Button

My buddy just got a 98 limited and the cruise control button is missing from the end of the stalk.

Does anyone know if we can go to the junkyard and pull just the botton or if we need to replace the whole stalk and how involved that is?

I wish I had grabbed a photo of the button hole because I thought, hey I'll see if I can engage the switch by poking it with something else but could not feel anything move. It looked like there are two small 1/8" holes on the top and bottom that maybe the button has pins to slide into and that is what depresses the switch?

I believe you have to pull the steering wheel to remove the switch. Not a big deal but read up on the tutorials and be sure to disconnect your battery and wait a bit before you get in there so you don't blow the airbag up in your face.

Thanks. I am hoping to be able to save time and hear that I can just pull a button, so he and I can focus on more important things like getting his LBJ's and radiator done.
