Wow, double priced 5 qt jugs at Walmart.

Wonder if it is any better than the $26 jug ?

Claim is good for one whole year or 20,000 miles.

By the way Mobil is running the good rebate now on their products.

i stick with doing 10k oil changes, even using the 15k oil.

5 to 7k between changes. When in doubt use a oil analysis service like Blackstone, or stick to 5k.

Read the rebate website. Walmart isn't an approved retailer on their list but they blatantly have a part at the bottom talking about Walmart like an advertisement??

if the engine you have is in excellent operating condition going above 10K miles with a pure synthetic engine oil is do able and has been reported by owners using the mobil 1 synthetic engine oil.

I myself have used mobil 1 and on one low mile vehicle I have I replaced the engine oil every year. about 2K miles looks perfect . 21 years old.

on my truck I do 10K mile oil changes once a year though the last time it was 18months . mobil 1 looked like the oil I put in when I changed it .

these engines I have run damn good and I do check with a scan tool the fuel trims so the oil does last for me on the mobil 1 synthetic regular grade that has been available for a very long time.

IMO would not pay double for the new mobil 1 that claims 1yr/20K miles . the product I use is with no issues for me.

I went 18 months and a little over 10K miles oil was down 1/2 qt..

Last year same deal, no Walmart in the list but they gave the rebate anyway. Lots of posts on here about it, and I got the rebate and all the others did as well.

I Stick with 6-8k changes with 15k M1 synthetic.

It's Mobil1's attempt to compete with Amsoil's "Signature Synthetic" that says it's good for 1yr/25k Normal Driving or 1yr/15k Severe if you use their filters.

I run the Amsoil in my 4Runner for about 20k now (10k intervals for now) and Blackstone has been showing good results with it so far. Though I don't do much more than 10k in a year (if that) so I'd rather not push it too much longer time wise.

It could be fun to get an oil lab report thread going. I sent Blackstone a sample from my V8 with 8500 miles on Mobil 1 0w40 and was told to try for 10,000 this change.

My new to me 2004 Runner 6 cyl Sport just turned 100K. Had 96k on it when purchased,w ith the oil looking clear. I'll take it to the dealership now for an oil/filter change.

I'm sure it will need a full synthetic or blend, 5W-30 Which should I insist upon? Thanks for any insight.
