Mobil1 LS 75w90 in transfer case

How many miles do you guys have on your rigs? Are you doing heavy pulling and going off road a lot? This is a 90-100k mi service for both differentials and TC. I confirmed that with at least 20 different dealerships throughout the country to verify because I was skeptical after hearing that a few times. I even made sure to call some of the positive and negative review dealerships. Only had a handful tell me 60k if I wanted to be on the safer side but it showed up on the 90k service requirement. They only would change it at 60k if I did any major pulling or off roading. Street only they would leave it go to 90k, especially the TC that was more like a 120k service. They offer the 4x4 drive line service at 90-100k which does both differentials and TC. Almost all told me to definitely not change the TC out with 75w90 lube, need to use the 75w lf. Since I have AWD drive I was curious since I am coming up on 50k. Thought it might be a 50-60k service, but was wrong. I will be holding off, easier or not, why change it early. I was skeptical on the 10k oil changes too and they are fine!

I have 60K miles. I was happy to change my rear diff fluid today. It was dark with quite a bit of gunk stuck to the magnet. While I rarely go off-road or tow, these are easy fluids to change, even if for piece of mind. I will wait a little longer to change my transfer case and front diff fluid. I find it strange that Toyota doesn't give a set interval for changing these fluids on 5th gens under normal use. I'm pretty sure 2nd gen Tacomas (which I had before my 4runners) were recommended to change diffs and transfer case fluid every 30k, regardless of off-road use.

So far 10 k on Ravenol. Shifts are not as nice as factory lube, but not bad either. Just takes more effort on the lever it seems. No grinding or anything like that, but subjectively feels like a slightly slower shift.
 
Swapped all three on mine to Redline 75w-90 a few months back. I contemplated using the OEM TC fluid, but when I called the dealer they had ZERO information on it, even with the part number. I referenced some threads here and on the FJ forums and the general consensus is that everyone has their own opinions on fluids and oils, HA! But generally it seemed that those running non-OEM TC fluids haven't had any issues with doing so, so I went with that.
 
I had Royal Purple 75w-90 in Transfer case and both Diffs for about 10,000 miles. Even though I had no issues I switched back to Original Toyota 75W Transfer fluid and Redline 75w-85 Diff fluid at 30,000; all manual specs to the letter. It might be placebo effect but what a difference: smooth 4wd shifts and better response in rear wheel drive while driving. I'm leaving those untouched until about 100,000 miles.
 
Has anybody used Royal Purple Synchromax? Their label claims it is a replacement for OEM 75W Toyota fluid.

When I emailed Royal Purple to get their recommendations, they only gave me the front and rear diffs. Even after a return e-mail to them, they stated they had nothing for the transfer case. That was 6 months ago, so they may have looked into it further by now.

The way I took it was it is a direct replacement for Genuine Toyota LF gear oil which is what our TC's require. So, regardless of the fact the chart is referencing tranny fluid, the Synchromax replaces the fluid used in our TC. I could be wrong, but that's how I read it.
