E rated tires made mine feel more like a truck

My TP (same as non-KDSS Trail & SR5) handles bumps better than my previous Limited did, no question. Though this wouldn't be due to just the XREAS but also the 20" wheels that come standard on the Limited versions. Change wheels/tires on any of these vehicles and you'll get a different ride. I have no complaints on either of my 4Runners. I thought the KDSS in a TP would be a must for me when shopping (coming from a Limited with XREAS) until I drove a SR5 and that completely changed my thinking to pay up for the KDSS. I have no doubt if I bought it, I'd probably like it as well... but have no regrets not paying up for it.

I have had three of these things with a total of well over 100K miles. Guess what: I STILL test drove every model I could find including a Land Cruiser (one of these days) and even after owning a TE with KDSS I found that the SR5 Premium is the best fit for me right now. Money is not the point, finding what is right for you is.
I can't stand the thought of spending 80K on a vehicle....yet. Maybe one of these days a LC is in my future.

I stopped by the local dealer today. The white SR5 base they have there wasnt ready for test drive as it is in the showroom. Tomorrow at noon it will be ready. Ill have my test drive then...
Is it true that the only differences between the SR5 and SR5 premium are leather, autodim mirror, homelink, and moonroof? If so, I can always get the base SR5 and add Katzkin heated leather seats for $1500 later on... Always an option... That is of course, *if* I walk away from the test drive pleased.
Honestly, the 4Runner may be cross shopped with the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude in my case.

If the 4runner lasts long enough, the Land Cruiser will be my next car, and last car, then my kids will inherit it to use as their family vehicle.

Ugh.... a Cherokee vs 4Runner? In all honesty, you will probably like the Jeep interior and toys a little better... but be sure you do your homework on them. If you are shopping, then I'd suggest driving a Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot and even a Subaru Outback. I've owned a couple new gen Outbacks and 4 Pilots and loved each one. Good luck!

i looked at the grand cherokee as well. and the day i took my test drive i also recieved my newest consumer reports magazine in the mail. the grand cherokee was rated almost at the bottom of the reliability list.
....the 4runner was second and first was the highlander, enough said.

I guess it's acceptable to be second if the one that beat you is yours as well. Surprise surprise though, Toyota has a vehicle in the top 3 in reliability in almost every class of vehicle. The few times Toyota isn't number one, Lexus typically is.
I definitely understand the reliability differences. Which is why im only going to consider the Jeep if I dont like the 4runner.
Remember I want to take this vehicle on the beach in the summer and light dirt trails here and there. Most CUVs are not up for that

My golfing buddy has a Durango V8 it is sweet 4x4 but it was like 55plus ! It is really nice though IMO better looking than GC jeep .
I am confused.... I am looking at Cars.com and I came across this 2015 4Runner SR5 with weird options...
This one has automatic climate control (I thought that was only available on the Limited?), and it looks like black leather seats NOT HEATED...
I thought the SR5 only came with manual climate control and black/grey 2-toned HEATED Softex seats?

Nah I was just saying it was nice & he takes it to Colo. for fly fishing & stuff , he uses it pretty good . I'm with ya on the 4r !
I'm with you... But its not the description I'm getting that from, its in the pictures... If you look at the pics in that Cars.com link, you can see the dual zone climate control... Weird.
Unless of course, the exterior pic is of an sr5 and all the interior pics are from a Limited.... That's possible too....
Struck me as odd is all.

That is what seems to have happened. Note the wood trim, heated/cooled seat dials, leather, dual zone etc. All Limited features.

I don't know if this was common, but it's the only SR5 I've seen with the lever rather than the dial

3rd row seats in that one too, color also looks to be magnetic grey on the interior pics, black on the exterior
