I'm not very familiar with motorcycles. What is the difference in that street and race bike? They both look fast.

What is a pit bike?

well the basic difference, a race bike has no glass/headlights, turn signals, mirrors, it has race tires meaning not DOT approved, (and if your good, they only last one race, lol) lots of nuts and bolts are saftey wired so they dont vibrate off, spilling oil and fluids on the track, most have reace plastic, which is lighter to save weight, and the bike is only "raced" meaning riden really hard, so if you looking for a used bike, you should ask, if its ever been raced, lol
A street bike is riden only on the street and not (legally) raced.
A pit bike ussually is a smaller bike like maybe a 50cc or a minibike just to get around the pit area, instead of walking, some pit areas can be pretty big, lol
Hope that helps a little :thumb3:

here's mine

That was my first bike. Thought it was bck/blu until washing it on a bright day and saw the blue flecks in the paint.

I'll find pics. Oldest to most recent.

'83 (ish) Honda CM 400
'86 (ish) Yamaha FZ600

'92 Suzuki VX800 (liked it, basic but functional. 50 mpg on road trip)
'98 BMW R1100GS (great bike, but NOTHING is worth dealing w/ BMW dealerships, car or MC)
'02 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 (LOVED it; probably will get a Wee Strom (650) as next bike for better mileage, and being able to go WOT with front wheel on ground)

Counting the days (avout 1400) until my youngest is in kindergarten and I can motorcycle commute again. It's the only way I can have a motorcycle because my plans to just take a ride always fall through.

My 2002 Honda 919, tons of mods.

My 1977 Honda CB400F aka 400 Four Supersport.

I also have a '04 KTM LC4 Enduro model and an '05 Honda CRF250X for adventure and dual sport riding, respectively.

No pics on this computer but for the dirt its not a bike, its a 2007 Honda TRX450 pretty much stock

Then I have a 1981 Harley Davidson FLT with a Shovelhead

Nice, I am a former road racer myself. I have raced:
F3, 748, R6, 1098 and GSXR750. I stopped after my daughter was born. Just lost the balls to go on. I was a mid-pack racer for the most part. I quit as an expert

Ducati Monster S2R 800

Lola is her name. I bought her back in 2007 and have close to 12,000 miles on her.
