Mounting Ideas (Hi-lift, 4way, gauge cluster)

Now that the major parts of my build this winter are over. Now comes the fun stuff :llama:



I want to put the hi-lift on the rack naturally, but I have no clue what to use that'll be safe and durable since I'll probly just leave it up there

I want to put the 4way in the back storage area I want to mount it on something as well but I'm clueless on this one.

Ideally I'd like the air compressor under the front seat since it's cig-light powered. On top of that I'd like to be able to quickly unmount it since the hose isn't too long

If I wasn't on my ass broke from my most recent mods I'd go ahead and just buy an a pillar mount for the gauges. Too bad I AM broke on my ass so I'm thinking under the radio. I'm not too worried about connivence visibility. I won't be hopping in my truck everyday with the thoughts "Lets make sure my oil pressure, amps, and water temp are good before I make my 6 block commute to class"

with that being said, I do want them to look clean. under the radio seemed the easiest and least difficult.

Class started today so I'll have a few weeks to dick around before anything starts getting too serious scholastically and I have to buy books and shit.

I'll post another pic here because I can't stop looking at my truck :deadhorse:

I really like this option too, I just can't swallow the 100 dollar price tag when the hi lift was 70. I'll be following this thread to see what you come up with, OP.

If you'll be leaving the hi lift outside, definitely get a cover for it

i got the mighty mounts used off ebay for 20 bucks. that made it a bit easier

Looks like you got a 4' hilift which should just about reach your bumper...shoulda got the 5'...

I made some custom brackets that fit my Gobi rack, they hold the hilift and you can mount an ARB awning as well..

x2 on getting a cover for it, mine got rusty as hell just being out on my roof over a summer. I ended up taking it apart and storing under my back seat in separate pieces. Even if it's just a pleather duffel bag from goodwill or something, you wanna keep that baby dry, especially the moving parts.

BTW, I'm digging the gold paint on the wheels. Really redeems them from being ugly throwaways.
