MPG suggestions

a bit of highway and in town about 16.5 on the last fill uo. not really any city city driving but back and forth to work with lights and stop and go traffic. hoping to break 18 on a road trip soon. think I'll go with the 2.89 denso's since there really isn't a major consensus. Can anyone point to a link about cleaning the MAF? thanks again

What kind of driving is yielding the 16-17 you're getting? Because if you're getting 16-17 in the city, I want to know exactly how you drive so I can do it too! I'm lucky to break 15mpg in the city.

Alot of factors weigh in if the diff is only a mile or two and those can include air temps (I get 1-2mpgs less in temps under 30F),how hard you press the accelerator and I have a bit of lead in my foot,slightly larger tires add more weight and when rolling it becomes even more plus the fact that we live up at over a mile high doesn't help since engines up here lose a bit of horsepower due to lesser oxygen so our Runners have to work a tad harder for every mile we drive.
Plus factor in how much 4wd you've had to use lately since that really sucks up gas.

Right now I've been getting a low of about 15.1 and a high of 16.3mpgs but I expect that number to go up 1-2mpg (a full 2 might be optomistic tho') as summer approaches.

My mom drives a bone stock '99 Limited auto and she gets 17-19 in the city.
