Anyone running these on a 5th gen in the LT version? How are they on ride quality and off roading?

So you are exploring alternatives after all
They are an updated version of mine. Mine are better offroad overall than KO2 and theoretically even stronger. In the desert, KO2 is great as well but in mud the Boss will be better.
They work surprisingly well on road.
However, they are not light and the Boss is even heavier. So don't expect breaking distances like those you have now when breaking in emergency.
I have not done much rain but have not had issues at all. I think they may even have silica which you can check.
I personally think it is the best AT available along with Yoko X-AT. But both of these are heavy.

Yeah I noticed the weight is pretty high. They do have silica added for better cut and chip resistance. So do my cooper rugged treks. According to the cooper rep my rugged treks should do well off roading. But they do work for cooper so take that with a grain of salt.I just don’t want to be out in the middle of nowhere with a flat and in a bad situation that would make changing it almost impossible. I will say I do like the tread on the rugged treks better though. They really do look more like a mud tire than a hybrid. Me and the wife come summer are hitting the road full time and will be taking a lot of trails and forest roads to get to dispersed camping spots in national forests and blm land so I really need something that can handle frequent off roading. My coopers are only 4 ply with 2 ply side walls. That worries me. We aren’t doing any rock crawling or anything crazy but there will still be plenty of things seen and unseen that can destroy a tire. We just don’t have many things in my state that require a tougher tire. My rugged treks are the xl version not sl so they are built to handle more but not sure if that’s enough. So far the MT Baja boss a/t has gotten great reviews.

I am very happy with my ATZ P3 offroad and on road so I have to imagine the Boss is at least as good.
My understanding is that the silica helps chiefly in rain on pavement.
You can always go back to the other tires when back home and have two sets.

I think you’re right on the silica. So far reviews have been good on the boss a/ts. I will probably be selling the rugged treks if I go with the MT’s.
