Mt. Baldy and/or Eagle Rock (May 12th)

Trails are just west of Colorado Springs, CO; both are off of Gold Camp road.

I'm planning on running these this Sunday with a friend and not sure what to expect this time of year, has anyone been up there yet?

Anyone is welcome to bring their rigs and tag along if they want. I'll update tomorrow with a time and meeting place if anyone shows interst in joining.

Eagle Rock

Unfortunately i cant come out with you but I have run both before. Eagle rock is pretty technical but not too difficult. This trail is much worse when slippery. Mt Baldy is a pretty mild trail until two-thirds of the way up when it become fairly loose rock with steep dropoffs. When you get to this portion any snow will make it almost impassable and it looks like there is a lot of snow on it now.

Yeah we called this run off for the time being, probably try and run it in a few weeks. Every time I've looked over that direction during the last 3 days it has been dumping snow on that mountain.

I ran eaglerock last weekend.. Didnt jump over to baldy tho. Theres allot of snow runoff and ice pack right now.. Kinda sloppy but it wasnt bad.

We ran Mt Baldy in January. Easy run but there was a lot of ice on the last leg of the trail. A FJ slid over on its side. We got it back up and he drove it home but insurance totaled it.
