220k and need a 3rd muffler. Last time I bought a SS Walker. They always seem to fail in the same place. Any long term solution?

Borla is an excellent, cost friendly choice and sounds good without being too loud. It is a weld on product so you'll pay for the part plus labor for welding. I've had my Borla for a few years now and I love it.

The Walker Quietflow SS has a stainless steel shell only. The inlet and outlet pipes are plain old mild steel. They only last 2-3 years and always break off right in front of the tail pipe flange. Borla, JBA or Magnaflow stainless systems are the way to go, but they are louder than stock. Toyota OE would be ideal, but not sure if it's still available. A local custom exhaust place could probably bend you a stainless system for about $600

I use northern Stainless because they bolt in to OEM style and they are cheaper then walker. Plus they last longer then walkers do by a few years. :-)

I've had the engine back Walker SS quiet flow since 17 living in the south. Sound of it a 10 it just right.
Downhill from there. Muff leaks water on cold start, flange gaskets couple times before I took a cutoff wheel
to joints last time. Next time I'm trying Northern Stainless you northern folks speak of. :)

They are not OEM but they work for a while and not too expensive.. So that's why I use them. :-) You can not beat the quality of OEM... Toyota just made them unaffordable for replacement parts. They did the same thing with their shocks and struts too... I guess that is how they pay for the lifetime warranty of exhausts, shocks and struts.. :-(

The Borla Pro XS 2.5" muffler I had on for a bit was their touring model and very quiet and subdued unless you mashed the gas. I had the longer model that was 17" or 18" long. The longer it is the more sound suppression it gives. Those little short 11" mufflers are very loud.
