Multiple Warning Lights and Rough Idle

Jumped in my 2016 TEP (17k) tonight and three lights flashing:
** A-Trac Off
** Check Engine
** Multi-terrain Select indicator warning light flashing continuously

** Rough idle too

What the hell man? It was fine last night. No rough roads. Nada. Today? All hell broke loose. Anyone, any idea what's going on?

2.5" Bilstein 8100 lift

Any ideas? Please help.

Flashing CEL is a misfire. Most likely rodent damage on the injector wiring.

probably an issue with the bilstein 8100s .....

I had similar issue years ago and found a small nest in the engine bay. SUV was parked outside for a few nights while cleaning out the garage. A few wires were chewed up but not 100% cut. CEL , rough idle and lost of power.

The OP did not say the check engine light was flashing. It is the multitrain select.

Pull the codes, you might have to get the abs codes. Wouldn't hurt to check the abs wires and connectors. Also the wires, connectors on the front, rear diff, transfer case and the neutral safety selector on the Transmission.

The OP did not say the check engine light was flashing. It is the multitrain select.

same scenario for me about couple months ago. Parked home after work. Getting ready to go work the next morning, I see my exhaust tip violently shaking... Rodents got my number 2 injector wires.
Take off the plastic cover and you will see right down the top middle.

I suggest everyone on this forum needs to get a OBD code reader and keep it in the car. They make them affordable these days and can save you some down time for simple things like o2 sensors, etc. Not knowing why you have warning lights and driving is unnecessary risk. In a pinch, most auto parts stores will scan it for you.

What OBD code reader do you recommend? Not some cheap unit, something one would consider to be the best without getting a Toyota specific one for thousands?

I have the innova 5210 because it also reads ABS codes. If I had it to do over, I would get one with a longer cord. They make much cheaper ones in the $20-$30 range. All you need is to be able to read/reset OBD2 and if desired ABS codes. After that, google and a smartphone to look them up for next steps. Hope this answers your question. And, you will become everyones best friend that has a car issue.

Thanks, innova 5210 looks like a good one. I want it to have anything I could ever need. Buy once cry once.

On a side note, my Kenwood head unit does read codes and provides the option of resetting them, but not as much detail as what a full OBD code reader.

If you have mo money i consider the one I have to be a bottom dweller. There are much better scanners out there that do more. I just don't plan on getting that far into it. For me, it either works or it gets replaced/fixed. I could care less what the o2 readings are for instance, only if it throws a code.

How much do you want to spend? There's a slew of Chinese scan tools out now that do pretty much everything for just a few hundred dollars. I just recently got an xtools D7, but haven't used it a whole lot. It is way faster than Techstream, the actual Toyota scan tool, and in a much more convenient package (7" tablet vs laptop).

It of course reads all the PIDs from all systems, does graphing, bidirectional control (actuation tests), etc. and only around $450

I haven't don't too much research on them but I'm considering Autell or this one simply for the fact that the Car Wizard recommends them. I don't know if they can communicate with all the modules.
