not huge on either genre, but for rap/hip hop, try Childish Gambino. him and Mac Miller are two that I really enjoy. Also, just create an Our Lady Peace Pandora station and enjoy lane:

Amazing how NO ONE mentioned Demon Hunter; and yet they've been around 10+ years and have about 6 or 7 albums. Check out any of their albums; I almost guarantee you'll like them. Here's one of their decent songs.
