Anyone done anything to mod the carpeting on the rear of the back seats? I'm coming from a Hummer H3 that was rubber / plastic all in the rear and dirt just wiped right off of everything. Not looking to have to constantly scrub / vaccum those carpeted backs of the seats. Thanks

I've been using this clever little device on my new 4Runner to get to the roof racks and it works like a charm on all 4 doors. It provides surprisingly easy access and is a super-cheap ladder substitute. The car is protected by a rubber bumper on the end of the device and it folds flat for storage in a drawstring bag. For short people like me, this is a must-have for the glovebox.
They are sold on Amazon in a variety of flavors.

I got tired of trying to get a grip on a muddy plug. Only $10 at etrailer for the 24". They have different configurations. Made by Hopkins.

I ran across these magnetic scratch protectors for door handles somewhere in this forum, or another.

Pretty effective at stopping the build up of finger nail or jewelry scuffs under the handle. I haven't lost one yet (crosses fingers).

First thing i did
With my new 2010 SR5, I was appalled by the tiny little beebeep that resulted when I honked the "horn." Not really a DIY guy, but I was surprised how simple it was to install a much more authoritative noisemaker. Don't have to take the original out, just bolt a new one in and move a connector or two. Cannot recall what the make and model is, but it definitely gets folk's attention when I so desire. Highly recommended, and not very pricey.

Not easily. The velcro straps tighten the panel that wraps around the extinguisher, so it's quite well-secured.
Agree 100% Definitely an upgrade on my to-do list. [I want the "La Cucaracha" horn. :guitar3:]

The back seat has a couple of "cigarette lighter" style power plugs. USB adapters that plug in are easy to find.
Are there any USB adapters that FLUSH fit so that the flap will close when not in use?

These don't go quite flush but they are low profile. I have one in the front cigarette lighter. The plastic protective cover for the cigarette lighter does not close over it. https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Charger-Output-iPhone-Samsung/dp/B00M6QODH2
