I'm leaning towards a yak basket to mount 1-2 bikes. (bikes direct to basket, basket direct to factory x-bars). Can you offer any other advice?

PS: my rides are a real old school "Scott Boulder" circa 1990 and a wicked sport-touring Marinoni Ciclo (custom). The boulder has also served up 2 seasons as a winter bike, using a nokian studded front tire. It is a hoot! I have ridden in temps as cold as -25C...on lakes, snow covered trails, etc.
