It's a bracket I used to have on there for a rack for carrying my kids bikes.

I'm not sure what you mean then as the only thing that's in the towbar hitch is the recovery point with the shackle removed.

yep, clicked that. I think i made my first one of those about 25 years ago.
I probably have 5-7 of them floating around

Got new rear springs fitted at Ultimate Suspension to take the extra weight of the drawers and the fridge etc



I also added some 12v lighting to the back so now more fumbling around in the dark looking for my beer



The old girl is now all set for our trip to Moreton Island after Christmas. Cant't wait!!

I friend of mine spent October and November down there and bought a 90 & 91 crew cab diesel hiluxs to Oregon.
Selling one of them almost paid for his trip and buying the two trucks and shipping

I have been looking for a LONG time but I finally found a Kaymar rear bar and tyre carrier.

It will sort out any issues with the panhard rubbing on the 33" spare in it's current position.

It will look the goods too!

Very disappointed.

I picked up the tyre carrier today from the freight company and it doesn't fit

The brackets are around 30mm too wide apart.

I'm going to pull the rear panels of the car next weekend and see if I can modify it to fit.

If not the seller has said they'll give me a full refund, but I'd rather get it on there.

Had win with the rear bar today and managed to fit it :biggrin1:





I still have a couple of things to do tomorrow like move the number plate and wire up the light.

I also cut these down from the old towbar and will fit them on each side to strengthen it up.



I am also cutting up the rear 1/4 panels to clear the rear bar and will use some rubber edging to finish them off once done.



Pretty happy with how it's turned out so far :biggrin1:

Nice 4Runner. Are those 4.88 gears working out for you. That's geared pretty low for the diesel. I put a Toyota 1KZTE into my 95 and ended up changing from 4.30 to 3.73 gears. Maybe its due to the difference in road speeds between here and there. Congrats on the 4R, you've done some cool things with it , and I am extremely jealous of the places you've taken it.

Will I broke the bracket off my diff AGAIN!

Its now getting the diff stripped completely and the brackets re welded and strengthened so it doesn't happen again :irked:

Picked the car up after getting the diff repaired.

Diff was stripped, acid dipped, brackets strengthened and re- welded.

Hopefully it doesn't break now!
