My 2015 TE Lost That New Car Smell After Only Four Months?

I have tried "new car smell" but that doesn't work.

The fact that I lost a bag of scallops under the passenger seat is a non-issue as I found them 3 days later and they were well sealed. Yes, it stunk of the sea for a few days but woe is me.

I have decided I am trading this truck in on either:

1) A Honda Civic (lots of pot smokers say the Civic's odor hiding ability is beyond compare).

2) A Jeep Cherokee (because I could care less what it smells like).

3) A 1991 Cadillac Cimarron (It has some really cool air freshener built into the car).

Guide me please.

That "new car smell" is usually just chemicals being released from the materials. It just means Toyota is using low VOC materials, which IS a good thing.

if you want new car smell you should have bought a new Dodge Durango. I had one as a rental with 11k miles on the clock. That thing made my nose burn.

I'm super happy the new car smell was so little for my 4runner. My newborn would not have liked it.

True story… So I take a date out to what was "back in the day" our make-out place here in Miami - Hobie Beach. When I say back in the day I mean the 80's. We were able to drive right up to the water. I digress. A few minutes into "getting to know her" I dropped the most foul-smelling, evil, predator of unborn children farts you could imagine. Right about the time my nose hairs caught fire, I opened the door and yelled "oh crap - the salt air is mixing with the new car smell - chemical reaction" She starts yelling, "...oh close the door it's horrible!" Scallops? You have no problems at all my friend.

and OP, i recommend a heavy dose of febreeze, if that doesnt work then put some roadkill in your truck in the heat for a few days, that will def alleviate the scallop odor.
