The truck in the first one must belong to a general contractor. Seems like ALL contractors here drive a jacked-up truck. I think its a requirement of the job <eye roll>

lol yeah...but I don't think so in this case. Having worked in construction/home renovation I know how banged up your vehicles get, how dirty they get, and how full of crap/junk/trash/tools they get. This guy's rig was spotless, not a scratch or ding anywhere on it. It was pretty impressive actually, and sounded mean as hell when he started it (turbodiesel V8).

But still.....what's the point?

You can see those Ford superdutys and Dodge cummins lifted like that all day where I live, I think its more of a "keeping up with the Jones'" thing, to the point of driving a fuel hogging useless vehicle, to tall to even put **** in, And the bulk of them dont tow or haul anything, making a full size truck useful for only saying..."I have a bigass truck".:shrug:

ugh...

though I'm not going to throw any stones on that, as my last SUV was a lifted XJ that I never once got to wheel in any real terrain (there's noplace to do it around here, and I didn't trust it to go 3 hours to the mountains). That said, I bought it as a rusty, crappy POS as a favor to a buddy's girlfriend who needed cash....... and really just set it up as a project with no real intention to wheel it. I just like working on old cars...

but yeah, it was essentially just what I used to haul crap from Home Depot, and I got rid of it when we got the T4R....

btw, "Maritimer" - that isn't by chance a reference to SUNY Maritime is it?

A guy I work with said the same exact thing to me about my 4Runner. He drives a Toyota Corolla.
