I understand that this question may have been asked 100 times in the past but if you look at his post count you will see that he's new to the forum. Perhaps he's not familiar with forums and just wanted to start off asking a legitimate question.

In my opinion, the first response was kind of snooty. Granted at the end of the post he was welcomed to the site but if that was my first post and someone answered me that way, I'd be a little put off.

Sorry Greg, I thought it was a pretty gentle admonishment to use the search function and I even provided a link that gave the OP literally thousands of links to peruse relating to his question.

My welcome to the forum was genuine as is my record of doing so.

If someone is put off by that response then they are in for a cruel awakening here on the forum, or any forum for that matter, where rudeness and inconsiderate responses are unfortunately quite common.

I hear ya. It's no big deal to me. Honestly, I'm not really sensitive and it wouldn't hurt my feelings or cause me to leave the forum but you know that there are all kinds of people out there.
