Stuck CAPS

Well, I've searched (clearly I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't, lol), and from what I looked through, it was only slightly pertaining to this, most notably the clicking noise. However, with their's, it was only when the A/C was on, and other differences in reproducing those symptoms, etc.
I digress, so here's what's going on. She's got an '04 V8 Limited, with roughly 120k miles on it. When the air recirculator is turned ON, and she's at idle, there's a clicking noise. I dropped the glove box to check the blower motor, and it sounded to be coming from the general vicinity of it, but I'm still not sure as to EXACTLY what it is. The clicking stops when the air recirculator is switched off. When it's on, it stops when exceeding ~1800 RPM.
After testing it, and finding out those little tid-bits of information, I believe it could be something to do with the lid/cover thing that covers the cabin air filter when the air reciculator is on. I'm thinking it could be loose. My other thought is that it could be something on the motor catching only when it's closed. I've heard of that lid breaking when people replace their filter too... "Roughly," for lack of a better word. I'm just not exactly sure what's going on with it, and from what I know already, it's not a big deal if it's left that way, but I'd just like some info on what could be/is happening.
