My re-built 22re

Hey guys,
Well I got my re-built in and all was well
and then it it craped out.
I'm getting way 2 much gas. now I don't
have an 02 sensor on it but I dident
befor. I think it might be the sending unit
for the cold start injector but I kind of hope not couse it's $130.00. It was running like a CHAMP now the plugs r fould out and it's missing and back firing.

any ideas?

ooo. sounds like your timing belt/chain is fubar. the old school runners have a tendancy to go through timing systems like i do girlfriends!! could be a number of different things. camshaft, timing system, dirty/ old ignition system. try and get some pics of the cam and timing and distributor/alternator. i can probably help more, i just need to see some pics. also, who rebuilt your engine? and what did they do to it?

It was built by Oregon Engine Re-builders
in long block form but the old motor was built by a guy that took off a bunch of the emissions and put a on a header and a cam. Now the MOTOR is stock but the emissions, vacuum and exhaust are not.
The motor did not run well before, some moisture problems but it ran better then now in ways. I think I might get an 02 sensor and/or a cold start injector switch
and take it from there. But I'll see if I can
take some pics. Thanks for the help,
and I would LOVE some more.
If I didn't love the truck so much (and I had a lot of $) I'd be driving a 4 door Tocoma.
p.s. the old motor over-heated so I may have cooked some sensors/conectors?

But I think I need it today.
It's over a moth now and I know my
wife is sick of driving my butt around.

Things are going well.
The o2 sensor is in and it's runs nice.
But, it's hard to start cold.
I'm thinking of changing the "cold start injector switch" but I'm
looking at other things
first because the switch is $130.00.
And it's leaking oil in the front of the
motor. Yesterday I took out the radiator , fan etc. and found nothing.
Oil is getting on the belts and pulleys and spraying all over. This is driving
me NUTS.
One thing I cant stand is an oil leak, let alone one in a brand new motor.
Once more, any ideas would be nice. Thanks, Capo
