My smart onboard "Computer"

I thought everyone would get a chuckle over my onboard computer saying I got 28+ MPG on the drive in today. It's never been over 23ish -- even on the highway -- and that was before the Yakima MegaWarrior.

Is there any way of re-calibrating that sucker -- other than simply resetting it? Seeing as it's giving me bad info, it's really not worth anything other than a dash filler at this point :) I'm thinking about getting different wheels and tires -- different size too -- so it'll likely not get any better...

Not really... But if you go to a different size, if you calculate the percent difference you can use a SpeedoHealer to bring the speedometer back to accuracy. :)

Nice...and sucky. Thanks for the help though! I wonder why they never allowed folks to recalibrate those little computers. I mean, it can't be more than a tiny bit of tinkering with the pre-determined inputs.

Alternatively, that location on the dash would be a great place to put something cool like a CB or a dedicated severe weather radio. I think you'd also have enough room to put in a small power inverter and possibly an extra USB charging port.
