Have you ever looked at something for so long and by the time you realize it, your head is spinning from all the "facts"? Yeah, that's my 3rd gen suspension. I currently have OME 906/881 springs and Bilstein shocks all around, I think from Toytec. Here's my kicker- I have a 4wd 4 cyl 4runner. When I put everything on, the front end sat significantly higher than the rear. That's ok, I'll just put a set of Dayco spring spacers in the rear to make it sit a little higher than the front.
The springs are probably 6-7 years old, and the shocks were installed when the Tokico shocks blew out, so they're 4-5 years old.
The problem is that the truck rides rougher now than it did when 1st installed. And I want to fix it.
The shop i work at is a Rough Country distributor. So I was looking at the idea of installing one of their kits. Which are just spacers in the front and shocks/springs in the rear. I was looking at getting a set of front quick-struts, which are complete springs, shocks, etc. But then I go back to the idea that my 4runner will sit higher in the front than the rear, a look that i don't want.
So, my 4runner is also not much of an off-roading vehicle. My wife needs it to get to work during the 1 snow storm a year here in Delaware (she's a paramedic), and I just like the look of a lifted 3rd gen. We don't go far off road, except the occasional empty field to avoid any snow drifts (She did have to use 4lo last year to get home after a long shift)
Honestly, I was kinda hoping that writing it all out would help me make a decision. That did not work. If you would like to off any suggestions to a long-winded post about something that has been beaten to death, I would certainly appreciate it. Thank you for reading this far.
