Good time for my story:
Back in the early '90s my buddy had a Volkswagen Corrado that was his pride and joy. But he spent too much on it and it got repossessed. He hid it from them for awhile but one morning it was just gone.
A few weeks later it popped up on a dealership's pre-owned lot, so on a lark we went and test drove it. The salesman had a big tale about how the car was the previous owner's pride and joy, how well he'd taken care of it and finally "boy, you can't imagine how sorry he was to let it go!". Oh man, we almost made a big mess in that car!
