Step 1: Give it to me?

Change all the fluids, check all the belts, give it a nice once over for mechanical issues and then drive it and wheel it. Once you start wheeling it, you'll figure out what needs you have based on your style of wheeling.

I see you are already thinking SAS. Are you wanting to get into serious rock crawling or is it more of a just want a different platform?

thanks any suggestions on what i should do to it anybody?

Tune up the motor, change all your fluids and belts, make sure the brakes are good, and wheel the heck out of it. These trucks don't need any mods at all to make your butthole crawl up your throat. Don't do anything until you've wheeled a while and know how to get the most out of the stock configuration, and know exactly what you need to do to make it do what you want. Most importantly, put that front axle away until later. You don't need it, and probably never will. The IFS is fine for 99.99% of what people do with these trucks.

Mod list - make it reliable, then buy recovery gear, then get sliders and a rear bumper, then tires and diff/tcase gears, THEN worry about lift and suspension mods.

KidVermicious, Awesome description of what needs to be done! I too need to finish the "basic needs" side of things.
but these are on my to do list in the spring!
4xinnovations.com has the cleanest body protecting stuff.

Awesome rig and a sweet price! Good job! I agree with KidV. Wheel it a few times than based on how it performs, upgrade it from there. IF you are hell bent on changing stuff now, I would suggest armor first. Front and rear bumpers and some skid plates. Protect what you have then add some lockers if necessary. Maybe some more aggressive tires and a mild lift.

Thanks for the suggestions ! I agree with wheeling it a couple of times and seeing if the sas is best for me. Just picked up the axle cuz it was cheep. It has a4 inch lift on it now and 33s I do want it up a little higher just don't know how to do it

What kind of a lift does it have? Look at the 4runner in my sig, it has a 4" lift and 35's. Your 4runner with a 4" lift should have a bit more clearance between the tires and the fenders.

IF you do lift it more, do not crank down your torsion bars. Some guys may tell you to do that but your ride quality will go to heck. It will feel like you are riding in a tank. It will also be hell on your ball joints. Since you want to raise it more I would do your SAS you were asking about. Take a peek at some write-ups on yotatech or do a search. There is PLENTY of information on the interwebs for the swaps.
