My windshield wipers are driving me crazy!

For the first decade I owned my 4th gen, I always bought OEM wiper refills. The last time I bought a set, the parts man said the old part # was NLA and gave me the current substitute. He warned me that I would have to cut them to fit my wipers. Well that's not a big deal but I should have been suspicious.

The new wiper blade(s) squeak like crazy. I hate to even use them but in Arkansas it's not an option.

I guess it's time to transfer my loyalty to an aftermarket piece. Anybody had satisfactory (and quiet) service from an aftermarket wiper blade or refill? I see Michelin and Bosch for sale at the local auto parts stores.

It rains a ton where I live, so I've always spent a lot on Bosch Icons, and my newest ones are Envisions, which seem like they're replacing the icons, and seem to work even better.

I just put some Michelin Stealth Hybrid blades on a few weeks ago. Raining today, so far so good. They like $14 a piece or so I think at Wally World.

I had the same problem regardless of the brand or how much I spent. I followed instructions similar to this youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3PT6GXTXCc and problem solved. It is the angle not the quality of blades from my experience.

My best experience with after market blades has been with Bosch Icons and I have tried numerous top brands and none so far has lasted as long, it took me a long time to buy the first set because they're not cheap compared to most other brands.

I had the last set on for almost 2 years and they still seem to be holding up well but I'm guessing I will replace them within the next year.

I've been a huge fan of the Michelins. I've bought them all, and for the price/performance these have become my go-to blade.

I have also been using the Bosch Icons for at least a decade or so and love them. Also put them on my mother's car for her and never any problems with them. Seem to do the job well and last a satisfactory amount of time. I can't say how long since I forget when I changed them...

I use a water spot remover on my glass at least twice a year, keeps it nice and clean.

I have been using the Goodyear Hybrid blades from Costco for the past three years with no problems in the northwest.

Another vote for the PIAA Silicone blades here. Have them on both my vehicles.

I stupidly let a guy at Auto Value talk me into buying cheaper ones as his argument is I could but two sets for the price of one Bosch Icon set. Well 3 months later and I feel like they need to be replaced. And winter has hardly started up here. I've got a set of Icons in my truck that I'll switch back to shortly.

Gotta do something to remove all the fallout and sap that eventually stick itself onto the glass--be it a combination of chemicals and claybar.

Living in snow half the year, we grab their Michelin (stealth?) wipers from Costco for around $20 both sides and replace before the snow.

Costco blades didnt work for me. Blades skipped from the start.

Ended up going with blades from rockauto.

Also make sure your wiper arms haven't twisted over the years, I had to twist my driver side back a bit to get the blade to articulate properly.

Super strange, then again, I have leftover clay and chemicals to clean the windshield once in a while..

Rockauto doesn't make wiper blades nor do they sell "Rockauto" blades, but they do however sell a very wide selection of brands of very good to regular blades.
