My Winter project is 99% done. (Harley material)

So, I took ownership of a 2001 HD Sportster that was my Dad's, then my Brother's...and now it's mine.

I can't leave things alone... So I began my first motorcycle project. I have attached some pics of the build. Most are in order. I started sometime in December, but I don't recall the actual date.

How it began..

New bar and a few other items..Speedo, key and ignition relocation as well as some bling red plug wires.

Front fork boots.

Vance & Hines short shot pipes

Removal of the stock graphics (note: they have clear coat over them....Oh fun!)

Sand and repaired some blemishes.

Started the paint process... Just doing some solar curing. I also chopped the rear fender, and cut 4" off the front of the front fender and 7" of of it's back side.

Uh oh...it's getting close!

I did a bunch of other things between all of these pics, such as relocated the headlight. Lowered the rear 3". Lowered the front .5", changed the pegs...just too much stuff to go into any detail.

Affixed Harley decals to tank..

Started rolling it back out of my basement workshop, through the den. This made the Wife happy.

Boom!!!

First tank of good gas that wasn't syphoned out of a lawnmower.

Nice Sporty! I love mine. 2006. Not a lot done to mine. Higher bars. Replaced stock (ugly) risers and top clamp. Removed the front fender. Homemade air cleaner. Relocated the speedometer. Just started riding mine again a few weeks ago for the season!

Oh and awesome job on the paint. I have really, really been wanting to paint mine.
