Name that lift!

Hi Guys! Who's ready for another round of name that lift?!

I bought a 98 4runner, 4x4 about 2 years ago. The guy that sold it to me told me that he had a 2.5-3" lift installed but I didn't think to ask any more information about it at the time. So now that the front suspension is shot and needs to be rebuilt I am left wondering exactly what I have installed, so I know what to put in when I rebuild it, or at least so I know what I have so I can upgrade. I snapped a few pics that should hopefully help you experienced folk out there to identify what’s what.

The front struts were labelled/stamped with:
Toyota
48510-35080
J.H.2
Tokico
Japan

The rear struts were too badly rusted to get any info off them. It did look like there was some sort of sticker/label applied to it at one point...

Any idea what type of lift this is? Shocks? Springs? Body lift?

that front number looks like an oem shock when googling.

maybe there is a spacer on top? If not, then I'd guess a body lift.

Hrm, I don't think its a body lift, check out the picture of my body mounts.

Maybe a top spacer. I took a picture of the top of the front and back suspension. Does this look like there are spacers installed?

Spacers front and rear. I'm not too keen on my spacer lifts but that rear one looks sketchy. I think it's supposed to fit over the coil, which would require removing the cone bumpstop.
On a side note, you might look into replacing your lower ball joints. Those look original and spacer lifts are especially hard on our disastrously-failing LBJs

ANYTHING you install from here-on will be an improvement. Now, just pick out what you want based upon your needs and your budget.

Ya, I was told I need to do my upper and lower ball joins & tie rods. I guess it was likely the spacer lift that caused premature (or maybe just regular) wear on the ball joints.

I think I am going to need to replace the upper ball joints, lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods and replace the springs/spacers/shocks with old man emu springs and appropriate shocks.

Is there anything else I should be replacing while I'm in there? I still need to read up on lifting (I may want to replace the upper control arms with after market?)

Steering rack bushings. Check your sway bar endlinks.
Remember to buy/install new bolts when you replace the LBJs.
